What is Butea Superba?
General Description and Appearance
A related species to Pueraria mirifica, Butea superba is called locally “Kwao Kreu Dang” or Red Kwao Kreu. Its name comes from the red sap which comes from the long tuberous root. Picture below shows the actual dried root.
Active ingredients found in Butea superba include the following:
· Flavanoid glycosides
· Mixture of steroids
· Mixture of steroid glycosides
· Mixture of carboxylic acids
